The Washington County County Department of Corrections, through the Sheriff of Washington County County, operates the Washington County Detention Center in Jonesborough, Jonesborough, Tennessee. Washington County Detention Center is one of the largest single-site county correctional facilities in the United States, holding up to 6,000 inmates daily and admitting up 116,000 pre-trial detainees each year.
