The Chaves County County Department of Corrections, through the Sheriff of Chaves County County, operates the Chaves County Detention Center in Roswell, Roswell, New Mexico. Chaves County Detention Center is one of the largest single-site county correctional facilities in the United States, holding up to 8,000 inmates daily and admitting up 98,000 pre-trial detainees each year.
